York Cellars is a boutique wine and spirits shop in DUMBO, Brooklyn. We curate uncommon international and domestic selections, with a focus on organic wine from small-to-mid-sized producers.

WHO YOU ARE:
+ MANAGEMENT
Proven track record managing and scheduling a team in the wine + spirits industry (either retail or restaurant); minimum of three years experience
Experienced in creating a positive, organized, and professional workplace
+ PERSONAL
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with strong integrity
Self-starter who thrives in a busy retail environment and has a restaurant-style hustle
Outgoing, customer-first mindset
Natural leader who motivates and supports the team
+ TECHNICAL
Proficient with point-of-sale and inventory systems (LightSpeed, PROVI, Proof, etc.)
Comfortable with spreadsheets, reporting, and light data analysis
+ KNOWLEDGE
Advanced wine education (WSET Level 3+ or equivalent experience)
Solid understanding of wine styles, pairings, and winemaking fundamentals
Familiar with NY-based importers, producers, and key regions
Experience maintaining and tracking inventory
+ RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support our team of retail wine professionals
Hire, onboard, and train new staff
Create and manage schedules; handle time-off requests and tip reporting
Plan and coordinate weekly in-store tastings with vendors
Participate in tastings and assist owners with buying and product selection
Oversee spirits ordering and vendor relations
Process incoming deliveries; check for accuracy and quality
Enter and price new SKUs in the POS system
Monitor and manage inventory regularly
Engage customers on the floor—offer pairing advice and product insights
Handle opening and closing duties
Maintain store appearance and merchandising standards
+ SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
York Cellars is open seven days a week with civilized shop hours. Evening, weekend, and some holiday shifts are unequivocally part of the role.
+ COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 (commensurate with experience); with significant opportunity for growth and advancement
